The Revvis go West! 2025 Revvi Cup South West – Race Report

The 2025 Revvi race season got underway with the Revvi Cup South West at the fantastic indoor circuit at the Wheeldon Off-Road Centre in Devon.

While the weather was chilly the epic race action was enough to warm the cockles of Jack Frost himself with some superb battles throughout the field in all classes.

First up was the Revvi 12″ 3 years of age class, where Teddy Roberts ruled the roost with wins in the A Finals on both days. Tommy Brown, who ended the weekend with a fabulous second, certainly kept Teddy on his toes. Boston Cleft, who got quicker with every race, was rewarded with third overall. Albie Brookes fired in with two excellent rides for fourth, Blake Ward kept it pinned for fifth, and Freddie Mason rode great for sixth.

Ronnie Marchant and Casey Fuller went at it hammer and tongs all weekend long in the Revvi 12″ 4-5 years of age category, but it was Ronnie who would be victorious with five wins to Casey’s sixth. Casey would finish a clear second ahead of Maximus Furzer, who is set to be a real contender in future events with some great riding giving him an excellent third. Monroe Wills rode her socks off for a fantastic fourth, and George Milligan went full power for fifth. Archie Walker-Blee and Reggie Lewis never backed down and looked smooth and in control for sixth and seventh.

There was plenty of action and drama in the Revvi 17″ 3-4-year-old class, and coming through it all with the victory would be Albert Hermitage, who backed up his second on Saturday with the win on Sunday’s A Final. Billy Plummer would take a fine win on Saturday, but a crash while leading on Sunday would mean second place for the weekend for him. However, he rode awesome all weekend long. Theo Hancock looked faster with every lap and, by the end of the weekend, was on a mission with second on Sunday, which meant he finished a great third overall. Two of our 12″ winners, Teddy Roberts and Ronnie Marchant, were fourth and fifth, which shows these two have what it takes to be at the sharp end on the bigger bikes. Albie Roberts Birchall hammered home a superb sixth overall, picking himself up from a couple of falls but never giving up.

The Number 85 of Rhys Bennison was a dominant force in the Revvi 16″ 5 years of age class, and he would take the chequers in both finals for the weekend title. Harry Perkins had plenty of drama in the heat races, but when it came to the finals, he had it well and truly dialled in and finished the weekend in a superb second. Apollo Newton worked hard in every race and thoroughly deserved his third-place award with some stylish and fast riding. It was super tight for Fourth place, with three riders tying on points, with Tommy White, Mason Phillips and Cooper Darlington all riding fantastically all weekend long.

Over in the Revvi 16″ 6-8 years of age category, there was some outstanding racing at the sharp end with eventual victor Teddy Williams and Junior Garbutt, who ended the weekend in second, having some epic duals. Great racing, guys. In third was Henry Davey, who rode a stormer to keep make the podium with some superb riding. Richard Mason has some excellent rides, ending his weekend with third in his last race, which helped him clinch a nice fourth overall. Elsie Graham had a smile on her face from the get-go, but that didn’t detract from her speed, as she sped to a mighty fine fifth, with Harley Randle having a great weekend with sixth.

It was all action in the Revvi 18″ 6-8-year-old class with 23 racers doing battle for Revvi Cup honours, meaning riders qualifying for the A, B or C finals on each day depending on the points scored throughout the heats.

Oscar Duckworth had an amazing 2024 on the 18″ bike and continued this run of form with two epic wins in the finals, keeping the hard-charging Kolbe Red Sole at bay in a great race on Sunday. Kolbe made a welcome return to Revvi Cup action with some stylish performances and second overall. Paisley Cleft was awarded for two solid days of racing, with her speed gaining her two good results for a fantastic third overall. Lockie-Jay Holmes built up in speed as the weekend progressed and stormed to a great fourth, Stephen James Peters had a tough weekend but never gives up and finished a good fifth with the all action Ronnie Sherwood taking an excellent sixth.

There was no lack of drama in the Revvi 18″ 9-11-year-old class, but Seth Johnson came through it all with victory and some fantastic races through the pack. Seth has his work cut out, though, as there were plenty of super fast riders in this class, but making it into second was Liberty Matthews, who, on Saturday, had a majestic race that was less than a second off of the victory with Seth just snatching it on the line. Lexi Bennett put in two great rides to land a podium in third, ahead of Rafe Symons, who had an excellent second in Sunday’s final in fourth overall and Oscar Smith, who also was superb on Sunday and claimed fifth overall ahead of Poppy Birkett, who was always in the mix and racing well in sixth.

EBR would like to thank everyone who came and created such a great atmosphere at the event, our team for all of their hard work, everyone at the Wheeldon Off-Road Centre for welcoming us to their venue and of course Revvi for supporting the Revvi Cup.
